Solar Power for Information and Independence (SPII)

SPII is an Ann Arbor based company devoted to using Solar Power as a way to provide electricity and water in the event of natural disasters, such as the recent Haiti earthquake and also for everyday use in developing countries.

What’s up ya’ll? Dan here with some news for the next few months-
-I will be playing at Columbia College’s festival, ‘Manifest’ on friday may 14th at the stage on Wabash and Balbo at 3pm. Check it out!
-I will be heading in to the studio for the entire month of June, and will hopefully be releasing my FULL LENGTH ALBUM in JULY or AUGUST!!
-I will be playing a few shows throughout the summer in Michigan and the Chicago area. I’ll put up a schedule for that later in May.
-Youtube videos will be up SHORTLY!!

Again, thanks to everyone who’s checking out my music, i sincerely appreciate every one of you. Please continue to tell your friends and family. I’m looking forward to completing this record and i can’t wait to let you all hear what i’ve been working on!

Ann Arbor 107.1 Interview and recording session

This sunday i will be on ann arbor’s 107.1 doing a live interview with John Bommarito and playing a couple songs at 11am on acoustic brunch….Hopefully this sore throat goes away! haha it might sound funny on the radio with a squirrel in my throat…at least that’s what it feels like. Oh well, as John says, “timing is everything”

Dan Henig is one of those artists who’s songs seem to stick in your mind for days after you hear them. He has a unique talent for mixing story with song. His words make you feel as if he’s telling your tale with a voice that will sooth even the most fractured of hearts. His music fluently expresses the trials and angst of youth. Drawing from influences such as John Mayer, Brandi Carlile, Mat Kearney, Matt Nathanson and Nick Drake, the sound is both worldly and modern yet has tinges of classic folk that transcends generations.

At the age of four Dan’s family moved to England, the turmoil of which would prove to be a lasting asset on his view of modern life. Always an avid athlete, he took part in a range of contact sports. During a Rugby game in 2009, he broke his neck and was rushed to the hospital. This experience triggered his movement into a life of music.
At age seventeen, this aspiration was put into motion by renowned producer Tim Patalan, who is known for work with artists such as Sponge, Brenda Kahn, Jeff Buckley and Taproot. While completing his high school career in Ann Arbor Michigan, he played extensively throughout the metro area. After finishing High school, he moved to Chicago to pursue a full time career and receive an education of music at Columbia College. He is now playing throughout the Midwest, and is currently working on his debut EP.
